Sealing your pavers protects the stones' color and condition while also avoiding deterioration. Here in Florida, it is almost impossible to avoid the Sun. It plays a major role in the deterioration of your pavers by accelerating the speed at which the color will fade. Sealer acts like sunscreen, protecting your pavers not only from the Sun, but also the rain and any acid in the rain. When you decide to add pavers to your home, it is a major investment, and like with any major investment, you want to be sure it is protected.
Pavers are 5x stronger than concrete giving them the ability to handle weather conditions better than concrete. They are also much easier to repair if they happen to get damaged due to roots or weeds.
Concrete is strong and requires little to no maintenance. This makes it a popular choice among homeowners. However, cracks, weeds, and staining are a very common problem with concrete. A good power wash can help with the stains and the cracks can be filled, but are highly noticeable and are a major eyesore.
Pavers are relatively low maintenance and is recommended about every 2-3 years, in order to keep pavers looking good as they did when they were originally installed, we highly encourage regular maintenance. It consists of pressure washing the stones, adding new "grouting", and resealing the pavers.
